02
Integration of psychedelic experiences
Support after a previous psychedelic experience – we provide psychological care that allows you to understand what you have experienced, process any difficulties, and integrate important insights into your everyday life.
IMPORTANT: This service does not include the administration of any psychedelic substance and does not replace long-term psychotherapy or crisis intervention services. These are sessions with a therapist focused on understanding and processing your psychedelic experience.
Typically, the service consists of 1–3 sessions, 50 minutes each, depending on your needs and the psychotherapist’s assessment.
This service is intended for adults who have had a psychedelic experience in a recreational setting (e.g. at a festival or as part of a retreat) and feel the need to process it:
- You have experienced a challenging state (a so-called bad trip) and feel emotionally unsettled, anxious, or disconnected from reality afterwards.
- You have had a profound or mystical experience and are looking for ways to integrate its meaning into your everyday relationships and habits.
- The experience has brought up various issues and you need support in processing them.
- You feel isolated after using psychedelics and do not have anyone around you with whom you can safely share the experience without fear of judgment.
- A non-judgmental approach – we focus on your experience and do not judge your decisions.
- Expertise – our therapists specialize in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and understand the specifics of altered states of consciousness.
- We will focus exclusively on your psychedelic experience and what you have been left with as a result of it.
- We will help you understand what you have experienced and safely integrate the experience into your body and everyday functioning.
- We will focus on how to integrate changes, insights, or a sense of calm into your everyday life and how to sustain them.
- We will help you create a safety plan to help you manage challenging states that may arise and respond appropriately if your difficulties worsen.
- If deeper personal or family issues emerge during the sessions, we will help you gain a better understanding of them; if needed, we can also recommend appropriate follow-up care.
- The service is not intended for clients experiencing an acute psychotic state (loss of contact with reality) or for clients with suicidal intent or a suicide plan. In such cases, crisis psychiatric services should be sought.
- This is not an addiction treatment service. In cases of addiction or serious substance-use problems, specialized addiction treatment should be sought.
